Dear Members and Friends:
As I conclude my term as President of NATPA-SCAL, I am struck by the list of
activities we have completed from 2011to 2013. We have been honored by all
the support provided by the members and the board of directors over the past
two years. We appreciate the opportunity to advance the NATPA’s mission by
working alongside the leaders and staffs of this great organization.
In February 2012, partnering with Understanding Sciences Lecture Series, San
Diego Taiwan Center, we hosted the Winter Conference held at San Diego Taiwan
Center.

˙ Dr. Ping-Hui Liao, Chuan Lyu Endowed Chair, Professor in Taiwan Studies,

˙ Dr. Ching-Ming Cheng, professor of Music and Piano, California State University

˙ Jason Jenkins, Founder and CEO of Assetwise Investments Inc. “How to Invest

˙ Chuck Lee, Founder and President of Fastech Enterprise Corp. “Earthquake
Protection Structure Anchoring System.”
In August 2012, NATPA-SCAL jointly sponsored the 9th Annual Meeting of the
Society for Autonomous Neurodynamics (SAND) with the Green Neuroscience Laboratory,
Neurolinx Research Institute, The University of Toronto Epilepsy Research Program
(UTERP), Stitching Epilepsie Instellingen Nederland (SEIN) and Institute of
Experimental Physics, Warsaw University. In December 2012, NATPA-SCAL (Dr.
Ching-Chiang Kuo) organized a special conference held at Irvine Harvard Park
Recreation Center.

In March 2013, NATPA-SCAL sponsored the Spring Conference held at San
Diego Taiwan Center. This conference was co-sponsored by Chuan Lyu Endowed
Program for Taiwan Studies, UCSD, Understanding Sciences Lecture Series,
San Diego Taiwan Center and Cenzone Tech Inc., San Marcos.
