Cenzone Tech Inc. Scholarship/Professor Young Chen Memorial Scholarship Application Criteria

Since 2012, the SDTCA has awarded the Cenzone Tech Inc. Scholarships to outstanding college students who themselves, or whose parents or grandparents, are current members of SDTCA. This year, year 2018, the awards will be given to six students, $2000 for each student. This year we also will award a $2000 Professor Young Chen Memorial Scholarship with the same application criteria as the Cenzone Tech Inc. Scholarship. All seven scholarship winners will be formally awarded at our annual “SDTCA Mid-Autumn Festival Event” to be held on 9/22/2018.

Scholarship Criteria:
1. Applicants themselves, or their parents or grandparents, must be WHOLE YEAR members of SDTCA in the current year as well as the preceding year. Applicant is not qualified if the family membership in either year is only half year.
2. Applicant must currently be attending a college or university as an UNDERGRADUATE FULL TIME student.
3. Applicant must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 out of 4.0 on his or her most recent transcript.
4. Applicant must show scholastic achievements, maintain good conduct in the community, demonstrate community leadership, and show other achievements and interests.
5. Applicant can only be awarded this scholarship once. Only one applicant from the same SDTCA membership family will be awarded each year.

To be considered, the applicant must include the following materials in his or her application:
1. Cover letter
2. Applicant must include his or her most recent transcript.
3. Applicant must include two letters of recommendation as described below.
A. Applicant must obtain a written recommendation from a member of the SDTCA.
B. Applicant must obtain a written recommendation from a member of the faculty at the school in which he or she is enrolled.
4. Applicant must complete the Scholarship Application Form (available at SDTCA office).

Submission of Application:
All of the above materials must be RECEIVED no later than August 31, 2018.
