FAPA 520 Celebration and Fundraising Luncheon in Taiwan  慶祝台灣民主募款午餐會

On May 22, 2016, FAPA held a very successful fundraising luncheon in Taipei, Taiwan.  There were more than 700 people attending this event.  The attendees were FAPA members from all over the United States and local supporters of FAPA. 

Master of Ceremonies was Mr. 鄭弘儀, a famous TV and radio talk show host in Taiwan.  President Tsai gave opening greetings through a pre-recorded video.  US Congresswoman lleana Ros-Lehtinen also sent a congratulations video.  FAPA president Peter Chen (陳正義)  gave a welcoming speech.  Chen Tang-shan (陳唐山, former president of FAPA, 1984) and Wang Chao-jung (王巧蓉, Managing Director at FAPA HQ) talked about the history and missions of FAPA.  They both mentioned the great achievements by the founding members, especially the endeavors of Chai Trong-rong (蔡同榮). 

There were many officials and TV hosts attending this event.   Taipei City Mayor, Ko Wen-je (柯文哲)  gave a short speech.  He helped auction off a bottle of President Wine.  Ellen Huang (黃越綏) hosted several rounds of auctions during the luncheon.  嚴詠能, a local folk song singer, brought some music to entertain the audiences.  There were many long-term supporters of FAPA at this event, including Peng Ming-min (彭明敏), Koo Kwang-ming (辜寬敏), Yao Chia-wen (姚嘉文), Chang Fu-mei (張富美), Wu Li-pei (吳澧培), Wu Shuh-min (吳樹民), Lin Chih-chia (林志嘉), Tu Cheng-sheng (杜正勝), Hsu Yung-ming (徐永明, a newly elected legislator from the New Power Party).
