2016 F1D世界錦標賽後記
美國代表隊員John Kagan 和Brett Sanborn 都是美國最頂尖的選手. John 連續九屆代表美國隊，得到一金 (2000) ，一銀，三銅，來過礦場6次. 這次比賽他在前一,二天都領先, 但最後還是和冠軍無緣得到第三名, 他的遺憾: John Kagan’s Thoughts on the 2016 World . Brett , 5次代表美國隊得過一銀一銅，第二天結束時還列第二名, 第三天仍用 bad air set up, 退居第八. Joshua Finn 是成年組的新隊員, 成績雖不理想, 但以他為主角的F1D錄影帶有四十多萬的點閱率. 團體組美國第二名, 如把元康列入三名隊員之一, 總分為156:21, 比第一名的匈牙利多10 分(鐘).
Zoltan 是 2015 F1D European Champ, 這次大賽得到第二名, 和元康的分數極為接近 (總分只差21秒) . 我問元康2018 你和 Zoltan 有得拚了? 他說 Zoltan 2016 F1D 是可敬的對手, 但2018 大賽在The West Baden Springs Hotel Atrium, Indiana 舉行, 為低ceiling(96 feet, 29m; 礦坑大廳高56m ) 賽場, 而世界上飛低ceiling實力最強的是Ivan Treger (2008 & 2010 F1D WChamps), 所以還得努力. 現在正值Labor day周末，他去了New Jersey (Lakehurst Hangar 3)參加美國East Coast Indoor Flyers 舉行的Seasons End Contest, 乘機練習一番.
作為2016 F1D WCh 賽場的Unirea Hall, 今後可能不再適用作F1D的比賽, 因大廳周遭為做物理治療的SPA, 和給肺癌和慢性肺病病人入住的療養院, 復健者,病人,選手車輛的進出, 導致賽場氣流的平穩難得維持和掌控. 要返回上層曾為9次 賽場的 Mihai Hall 不太容易, 為安全考量要重新裝換兩座深下地面 400feet 的電梯, 需要很多錢, 不是礦場和主辦國能夠負擔得了的. 這次比賽頭一遭得到金錢贊助: AMA發給每位美國選手 $1000.
Lakehurst Labor Day Contest 2016
在Labor Day 周末(Sept 2-5)在Lakehurst, New Jersey 舉行的室內自由飛模機競賽, F1D比賽的前四名:
1) Kang Lee 1:00:39 2) Brett Sanborn 0:57:46 3) John Kagan 0:52:19 4) Steve Brown 0:50:14 (Steve Brown 曾得三次F1D WChamps)
元康最好的單飛 分數 31:43, 比他在2015創的31:36 AMA 世界紀錄還多了7秒, 但元康放棄把31:43列為新的紀錄, 可能因為超過不多, 還有進步的空間.
F1D Blog由元康啟用, 現已成為報導F1DWC 賽事專屬的的網站. 在當今 F1D Blog 網頁 有 ARCHIVES和 ARTICLES 一百二十多篇 涵蓋2012 - 2016 三屆 賽事. |
June, July, August 2015間, 就F1D 模機 的製作方案, 設計圖, 和模機的運作、調教， 元康發表了8篇文章August 2015 (1) July 2015 (6) June 2015 (1) . 十天前又把這8篇文章重新整理PO 出September 2016 (1), 也可從網頁上方 "F1D How To" 和 "F1D Plan and Construction"全數讀到.
